The mini dictionary takes you from descriptions of Maori Dance to Draughts, Kauri to Kites, Sleds to Spinning Tops, and so on.  All the Maori games are covered, as well as details on different crafts, weapons, foods, flora and fauna, and much more!  It is a great starting point for learning about the Maori culture, and beautiful photos complement the text.  If read from front to back, it would provide the foreigner with a good overview of the Maori way of life, both before and after the arrival of the European ( Pakeha).
