This book follows on from an earlier DVD.  It starts off with an introduction to the old traditional poi, and how it came about, and then moves onto modern poi, including fire poi.  You learn how to make two different modern poi, including how to plait the cord. 

There's a section on poi games, then you move onto the nitty-gritty of how to twirl the Maori Poi correctly.  With photos and very detailed instructions, you are shown the different movements of the short poi, and then the long poi, including the double poi.

The book ends with a poi song, and a glossary.

Well worth buying, either on its own or with the DVD.
