This gorgeous collectible Kiwi toy is one of a set of 6 seated Kiwi, and is called Tane.

Tane Kiwi is a brown and red plush Kiwi toy, with the Maori Koru design painted onto his side, and fabulous Ta Moko tattoo designs painted on his beak and legs. 

Tane is the Maori name for the God of the Forest.  Tane persuaded the Kiwi to lose his brightly coloured feathers and take care of the forest floor.  In return, Kiwi would be the symbol of Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Lovely and soft, he looks great sitting with the rest of the set, and is approximately 6 1/2" (17cm).

A portion of the sale price of this kiwi goes to the Whangarei Native Bird Recovery Centre, to assist them in the raising of Kiwi chicks and the recovery of injured Kiwi.  So thankyou for helping to Save the Kiwi!
