Dennis Hobson is a talented Northland, New Zealand woodturner with the ability to turn native swamp kauri stumps into works of art.
Dennis called this bowl Maori Rapture because of the swirls of Red and Black inlaid into the top.
The bowl is approximately 10 1/2" wide and just under 2" tall. Use it as a salad or fruit bowl, if you can stand to hide the beautiful wood inside!
Isn't it fabulous? You can't keep your hands off these kauri bowls - they seem to invite you to touch them and admire the smoothness of the finish and the innate beauty in the grain of the wood.
