Here we are back with another Best of Country Calendar (TV series), this time for 2009.  And there's a little bit of everything, to satisfy everyone.

There's the smallest dairy operation in New Zealand - two cows!  Producing and selling cheese.

There's a group of Gisborne women growing sweet pea seed for export to Britain.

And there's solo parent Lyn of Taranaki who has taken on a sharemilking job singlehanded, milking 185 cows twice a day.

For those who love the sea there's a fishing story, and for the adventure lovers, a group of possum hunters turning fur into a profitable business.

There's a growing interest in alternative farming methods, so there's a hill country farmer who has converted his farm to organics, a winery on the shores of Lake Wanaka where alternative methods have been taken one step further, and a couple who farm free-range chooks in north Auckland....thousands of them!
