Edmonds Baking Powder was produced in New Zealand in the late 1800s, after New Zealand women complained that the imported variety of baking powder gave variable results.

Edmonds Baking Powder became an institution, a reliable product to make cakes rise.  The company later went on to produce the Edmonds Cook Book, which is still the topselling book in New Zealand today ( see below).
