This simple but exquisite pendant is made from flower jade, a type of nephrite jade ( we call it Greenstone, Maori call it Pounamu) found only on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Flower Jade contains shades of yellow and brown, caused by the gradual oxidation of the greenstone boulders.  It is very attractive and eye-catching.  This particular piece has been highly polished to bring out the the inner beauty of the greenstone.  Oil it from time to time to keep up the lustre.

The Flower Jade Drop Pendant is approximately 3" (7.5cm) long and 5/8" (1.5cm) wide.  It rests on a plaited cord approximately 25" (64cm) long, with a greenstone toggle.
