The sweet, natural voice of Daphne Walker has been a favourite sounds of the South Pacific for over 40 years.  Her hits were recorded during the 1950s and 1960s.

Her performances aptly encapsulate the special magic of the South Seas, the warm tropic nights, the balmy air, the miles and miles of golden sand, even the sound of the surf (as features on the Beyond the Reef track).

The songs are of love, life and legends of Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand.  They include her greatest hits, Haere Mai and The Land of the Long White Cloud.  Several of the tracks are duets with another great Polynesian performer, George Tumahai.

All tracks are backed by the vibrating guitars, strumming ukeleles and infectious rhythms of that master musician Bill Sevesi O.B.E.
