Researchers at Lincoln University, New Zealand, have developed a patented process to remove keratin from natural New Zealand wool, whilst keeping it biologically active. Keratin is a structural protein that is one of the main constituents of our skin, hair and nails. The keratin extracted is called functionalised keratin because the keratin is extracted fully intact and functional, unlike any other keratin products on the market.
