This exquisite Pounamu Pendant is carved from Kawakawa Jade, although one side of it looks more like Inanga Jade ( the lighter side, looks like fluffy soft green clouds). To have both in the one piece of jewellery is rare, making this a standout piece of Maori Jade Jewellery.
The Pendant has two Maori Korus carved out of it. As with all Maori designs, the Koru carries a spiritual meaning. The Koru signifies peace, tranquility, positive change, and new beginnings. So it is a wonderful piece to give to yourself or to a loved one.
The Pounamu Pendant measures approximately 2 3/8" (6cm) long and rests on a 25" (64cm) black cord with greenstone toggle closure. It comes from a collection of pendants made by a group of carvers in Hokitika, where the greenstone comes from.
This is a one-off piece, once it's sold, it's gone forever. So if you want a unique piece of New Zealand art, grab it now!
