Although I like all of David Taylor's pendants, I particularly love this Bone Fantail ( Piwakawaka) Pendant.
The fantail is a cheeky little native bird which flits around the forest and your garden, catching flying insects. Its agility and speed in flight gave inspiration to Maori warriors, whose moves often imitated the bird's acrobatics.
A beautiful bird, carved beautifully from cowbone, right here in New Zealand, by a native of New Zealand.
The bone pendant measures approximately 55 x 40 mm ( 2 1/4" x 1 5/8"). It rests on a plaited cord.
