This truly unique Maori Koruru Guitar Necklace was made in Auckland, New Zealand by a Maori carver of Ngai Tahu descent.  He made a similar design for members of the late Sir Howard Morrison's Maori band.

The body of the bone guitar is carved in a Koruru (carved Maori head) design, complete with New Zealand Paua (abalone) shell eyes and protruding tongue.

The head of the guitar features Manaia head detailing.  The Manaia was a mythical being that acted as provider and protector over land and sea.  Spiritually, it is a guardian figure.

This wonderful hand carved bone guitar necklace measures approximately 3 3/4" (9.5 cm) long and comes to you on a black plaited cord.
