New for the 2008/9 season are the Koru Merino Possum Silk Slipper Socks.
Ideal for wearing around at home and then jumping into bed with them still on, to help you have a relaxing, warm sleep.
Merino Possumsilk is one of the world's newest fibres, and one of the best ever created, in my humble opinion. Made from a mix of 50% superfine Merino wool, 40% Possum fur, and 10% silk, the fiber is soft, warmer than wool, yet very lightweight. Not prickly, due to the fineness of the merino yarn and the hollow, smooth possum fur. That hollowness serves to trap heat, making the combination warmer than wool. And it is all natural too!
The Merino Wool Possumsilk Slipper Socks come in 3 sizes and 2 colours. Size Medium is approximately 10" (25cm) long, and Large is 10 1/2" (27cm) long. Comfortable, warm and lightweight, they are ideal for anyone who feels the cold.
And by purchasing a pair of the Possumsilk Wool Slipper Socks, you are helping New Zealand rid its forests of the introduced pest, the Australian Brushtail Possum. This possum chews through alarming quantities of our native trees, and also attacks our endangered native kiwi and its eggs. We must get rid of the imposter, to save our native species. So thank you for your help.
