The Tuatara is only found in New Zealand, and then only on outer islands which are kept predator-free.  The Tuatara is the only living relative of a group of reptiles that roamed the earth at the same time as dinosaurs.  It has survived whilst its relatives died out 60 million years ago, and it hasn't changed its form in all that time.  

The other amazing fact about Tuatara is that the temperature at which its eggs are incubated influences the sex of the hatchlings.
