This beautiful Maori Hook Necklace is carved right here in New Zealand from New Zealand Greenstone, found only on the South Island of New Zealand.

New Zealand Greenstone is a type of nephrite jade unique to New Zealand.  It is called Pounamu in the Maori language. 

The Maori Hook design carries a spiritual meaning.  The Hook signifies strength, good health, prosperity, and safe travel over water.

This Greenstone Hook is beautifully carved in the shape of a traditional fish hook.  Note the fabulous lashing at the top of the hook, extending into an adjustable neck cord that extends up to approximately 24" (61cm) long.  The hook and its lashing measures approximately 2 3/4" (7cm) long.
