These Greenstone and Sterling Silver drop earrings from Nick Feint are very, very clever.
A disc of South Island New Zealand Greenstone ( Pounamu Jade) is set in front of of larger Sterling Silver disc cut out in a Koru spiral design.
The result is the koru design subtly showing through the translucent greenstone, adding another dimension. Superb!
The Maori Koru design comes from the unfurling fern frond, and represents peace, tranquility and new beginnings.
These are large earrings, just as they need to be. The Sterling Silver disc measures nearly 1" (24mm) in diameter. Designed to be shown off, designed to make a statement. Not for the shrinking violet!
