This gorgeous Greenstone Drop Pendant is made more beautiful by the Koru carved into the lower portion.  A beautiful piece of jewellery carved in New Zealand from New Zealand Pounamu (greenstone jade).

New Zealand's greenstone is found only on the West Coast of the South Island.  Only local Maori may extract it, and supply is carefully controlled.  Many of our carvers live and work in that same region.

This beautiful Greenstone Drop measures approximately 3 1/2" (9cm) long.  It's a lovely piece just to wear because it is so beautiful.  And it is also a lovely piece to give to someone who has experienced loss or sadness.  The rounded drop design is called a Roimata, or tear drop.  The design signifies recognition of loss, and the desire to be there for that person, standing by their side and reassuring them that life does go on.

The pendant comes to you on a card detailing its origins, and on a traditional waxed black cord measuring approx 26" (66cm) long.
