The slippers have a full leather toe, and are fully lined with possum fur.  The edge is bound, and the sole is a 1/4" EVA ( synthetic rubber).

Possum fur is warmer than wool, extremely lightweight, and very comfortable to wear.

The slipper lining is made from the skin of the introduced ( from Australia) Brush Tail Possum.  Introduced in the 1800s, they loved our climate and bred profusely.  Possums quickly became a noxious species and we are doing all we can to eradicate them.  This introduced species feeds on and kills our native trees and our native birds.  If we do not eradicate possums, they will eradicate our native Kiwi.
