Possum fur is warmer than wool, and with its hollow fibre, it is also incredibly soft and non-scratchy.  Ideal for babies.  The ribbon tie on the booties allows you to adjust the fit around the ankle.  The outside of the booties is the natural possum leather.

The brushtail possum was introduced into New Zealand last century.  Unfortunately, the possums were able to breed very successfully in our climate, and their population has skyrocketed.  They are predators to our native birds and they also munch through tonnes of native bush every night.  If we do not get rid of the possum, we risk losing our native species, including our beloved Kiwi bird.
