( Rimu, pronounced Ree-moo, is a gorgeous native New Zealand timber with beautiful color and grain.  It is also strong and tough.  It is now in scant supply, and this timber originated from fallen logs which were harvested and milled on a family farm not far from here.

In keeping with the New Zealand Clean & Green image, the board has been finished with a high grade, nature friendly combination of oils, then polished with natural beeswax.  To care for the timber, occasionally lightly rub it over with olive oil or natural wood wax.  

Take care of it, don't put it in the dishwasher, and it will be a future heirloom.
