For our friends who have asked for small greenstone pendants, we have the small Maori Manaia Greenstone Pendant. It will suit those people who like their pendants to be small and not too conspicuous.  Whilst more and more New Zealanders like to wear the larger pieces, others prefer the more delicate carvings.

This small Maori Manaia Pendant measures approximately 1 1/8" (3cm) long.

The Maori Manaia design carries a spiritual meaning.  The Manaia (pronounced Ma-nigh-ah) is a spiritual guardian.  It is a carrier of supernatural powers, and acts as a provider and protector over sky, earth and sea.  A greenstone manaia has long been a popular pendant for those in the Armed Forces.

The Greenstone is New Zealand Greenstone ( Pounamu), found only on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand, and carved right here in New Zealand.

The pendant comes to you on a traditional black waxed cord approx 26" (66cm) in length, and on a descriptive card.
