These St Christopher Sterling Silver Charms will appeal to the travellers amongst us.
St Christopher is the patron saint of travellers, called on to ensure safe travel regardless of flood, storms, etc. Legend has it that Christopher was fording a stream when a young child asked him to carry them across the stream. When he did, he found the child incredibly heavy to carry. The child turned out to be God, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
The smaller of the two St Christopher Charms depicts St Christopher holding his wooden staff, with the child on his back. It measures approximately 13mm(1/2") in diameter.
The larger St Christopher Charm also depicts St Christopher fording the stream with the child on his back. It also has wording around the outside edge, stating "Entrust thy safety to St Christopher". This charm measures approximately 15mm (5/8") in diameter.
Both St Christopher charms are proudly made in New Zealand.
