This beautifully hand-carved New Zealand Kiwi Walking Stick depicts our beloved Kiwi bird finding food amongst the ferns and leaf litter in the New Zealand native forest.  The stick is carved by Ted Hatchwell of Waikato, New Zealand.

Ted is a retired gentleman who was in the New Zealand Army.  Whilst based at Waiouru, Ted decided to take up a hobby, and the hobby he chose was carving walking sticks.  Honing his skills over many years, Ted now also paints and sculpts.

The quality of workmanship can easily be seen in this walking stick, particularly in the fine carving, and the delightful barley twist.

The Kiwi walking stick is a delight to look at and use, and would make a wonderful gift for the collector or someone in need of a walking stick.  There's no need for a walking stick to just be functional!

The stick stands 36" (91.5cm) tall and is made from Tawa, a beautiful native New Zealand hardwood.  Whilst the top is decorated with a Kiwi bird, the shaft carries a lovely barley twist.

A wonderful piece of New Zealand hand carving to add to your collection or give to a loved one.

When you purchase one of these Kiwi walking sticks, we donate ten New Zealand dollars to the Whangarei Native Bird Recovery Centre, to help them in their work healing injured Kiwis and rearing Kiwi chicks.  So thank you for helping to Save the Kiwi!
