Ted Hatchwell is a retired New Zealander who carves the most exquisite barley twist walking sticks from native timbers. In this case he has carved a Rams head into the top of the walking stick.
The Rams Head Barley Twist Walking Stick measures approximately 35 1/2" (90cm) long and is carved from Tawa, a native hardwood. The honey coloured wood and fine grain is spectacular! The stick is signed by Ted and the wood is also noted on the stick.
This walking stick would make a great gift for the sheep farmer, and is also a wonderful souvenir of craftsmanship from New Zealand. It would be a welcome addition to any walking stick collection.
