Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu lived from 1931 to 2006, and played an important part in the lives of New Zealand Maori.
This DVD commemorates the Maori Queen, Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu.
Tiaho Po includes excerpts from a concert held in May 2006 at Turangawaewae Marae, Ngaruawahia, to celebrate 40 years of Te Atairangikaahu's leadership of the Maori King Movement (Kingitanga), and historical information relating to Te Atairangikaahu and the Kingitanga.
On 21 August 2006, three months later, thousands of mourners made their way back to Turangawaewae Marae to farewell their beloved leader.
The DVD features an edited version of the Maori Queen's tangi (funeral) that was broadcast live to the nation by Television New Zealand.
This DVD, in my opinion, is an important DVD to be watched by all New Zealanders, and anyone interested in New Zealand, particularly those wanting to live here.
