This stylish Unearthed Kauri Pepper or Salt Grinder will look great on your table, and will be a great conversation starter too. Your guests will be amazed at how old its timber is...over 45000 years old! Notice the beautiful grain in the pepper grinder photographed. That natural beauty will vary from piece to piece, each one unique. Notice, also, the beautiful honey colour of Kauri wood, and the contrasting metal "Unearthed" badge detailing its origins. The Swamp Kauri Salt or Pepper Grinder stands approximately 8 3/4" (22cm) tall. It is beautifully packaged in a stylish Unearthed box, which also includes a Certificate of Authenticity, Product Care Instructions, and the manufacturer's Carbon Neutral Commitment. The Unearthed Badge correctly states that the item is made from New Zealand Kauri Wood that has been buried for at least 45000 years. Yes that is right, over 45000 years! The giant Kauri trees fell over and were buried by an unexplained act of nature long before the onset of the last two Ice Ages. Over the millenium, the wetlands that formed created a uniquely balanced cocoon to preserve the buried wood. Over 20 samples of this buried Kauri wood have been independently radio carbon dated around the world, and found to be more than 45000 years old. Kauri is the oldest workable wood in the world. Kauri trees are native to the Northland area of New Zealand ( where you will also find Shopenzed.com, although we're not quite as old as the Kauri tree). Kauri products will only appreciate in value, as this rare buried treasure will eventually run out sometime in the latter part of this century. No trees were cut down to make this product.
