Wahaika - Maori Club

This beautifully carved Maori hand weapon is called the Wahaika.
The weapon is carved from the native hardwood Matai and finished with a rope wrist-strap and Paua shell eyes.
This Wahaika is the same as those seen in museums. As per usual in pre-European times, the club is decorated, and on the back is a full figure in a war-like stance.
It measures approximately 15" x 5" x 3/4" (38cm x 13cm x 2cm).
