This fabulous multizone DVD, made in 2004, features excellent examples of Maori song, dance, games, tattoo and carving.  Narrated by Temuera Morrison ( Star Wars actor), watch the haka performed, marvel at the dexterity of the Maori women as they perform the poi dance, and enjoy the stick games I used to play as a child.

I can't speak highly enough of everything displayed on the DVD - it is all authentic.  

The DVD begins with a call and song of welcome, then moves onto an action song, poi dancing, stick games, and then the fabulous Haka.  Following that is the beloved Maori song Pokarekare Ana.  In the background you will hear a whirring sound, made by the Maori musical instrument Purerehua, and a flute, the Koauau.

The DVD comes cleverly encased inside a postcard,so it makes a fine gift to post or to hand to a friend.  Inside is a brief description of what is on the DVD, and about New Zealand and the Maoris.
