The Kiwi Jandals ( flipflops, thongs) are a true icon of New Zealand.

Not only are they essential footwear for summer, they epitomise Kiwi summers at the beach - sand, sun, boating, and barbecues.

I even know a guy who wore them throughout the southern winter - you're talking ice, snow etc in the Dunedin winter, but  he still wore his jandals to varsity every day.  What a bloke!  ( haha)
